Abandoned Coal Mines May Have Fueled Colorado Wildfires

Boulder County is investigating abandoned coal mines as a possible cause of December’s devastating fires.

Across the US around 259 underground mine have been ablaze in over a dozen states as of last September.

Fires in the mines can be sparked at temperatures as low as 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
