Rocky Mount PD says a woman was accidentally shot and killed at this home on Meadowbrook Road.
Police say 42-year-old Christopher Edwards was attacked by his dog and when he fired a round, it hit 72-year-old Sarah Hankerson.
Hankerson later died of her injuries.
Rocky Mount police are calling it an accidental shooting.
Hankerson is the fifth person shot and killed in Rocky Mount in the past nine days.
