A register sex offender arrested for sniffing a woman’s butt inside store
Police say officers were dispatched to a Nordstrom Rack on North Victory Place in Burbank, California after a report of someone loitering in the women’s department.
Their investigation led them to a nearby Walmart where they used the store’s surveillance system to track a man following a female customer.
The officers allegedly watched as the suspect followed the woman, crouched behind her and engaged in lewd behavior by inappropriately sniffing her buttocks.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Calese Carron Crowder, was taken into custody shortly afterward.
Police say Crowder has a prior history of similar offenses in both Burbank and Glendale, dating as far back as 2021.
In 2023, Glendale police arrested Crowder on suspicion of “peeping” near a residence. Around the same time, he was allegedly spotted performing similar inappropriate acts in bookstores around Burbank. One of those incidents gained widespread attention after being posted on TikTok.
Additionally, former NBA player Robert Horry reshared a post made by his wife on social media in 2023, accusing Crowder of stalking their daughter years earlier. Public records confirm that Crowder did serve time in prison during the year she referenced, though specific charges were not confirmed.
Crowder now faces one charge of loitering with the intent to commit a crime. His bail has been set at $100,000, and he remains in custody awaiting a court appearance scheduled for August 1.
The investigation is still ongoing, and officials are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Burbank Police Department’s Investigations Division at (818) 238-3210.
