Five people were robbed in ten minutes near the University of Chicago on Monday night.

The first armed robbery occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of South Kimbark, according to University of Chicago police.

Three suspects robbed a single person on the sidewalk before fleeing in a white Kia.

The same group robbed two more people in the 5100 block of South Kenwood around 7:35 p.m. Then, within five minutes, two more people were robbed in the 1200 block of East 57th Street.

The three suspects were later apprehended near 38th and Cottage Grove, and a handgun was recovered, according to police.
