Detroit, MI ā Concern is growing after a 35-year-old father and his 2-week-old baby vanished during what should have been a simple trip to a free car seat giveaway.
Darrius Causley, a single dad devoted to raising his newborn son, Divine, was last spotted entering a fire station near Livernois and 7 Mile. He had his baby strapped to his chest when he walked in around 2:45 PM for the event, which was hosted by a nonprofit focused on child safety.
Witnesses say Darrius signed in, completed paperwork, and was escorted to a back room for a car seat āfit check.ā But strangely, neither he nor Divine were seen coming back out. Volunteers recall him being in good spirits, smiling and proud of his new role as a father.
Even more unsettling ā his phone was discovered inside a diaper bag left behind in the building. Security footage shows them walking in but provides no sign of them leaving.
Police have not released any official suspects, but theories are circulating online, with some pointing to the possibility of an underground adoption scheme or something even darker. The babyās mother, who reportedly moved out of state shortly after giving birth, has denied having any connection to the disappearance.
