A man was arrested Thursday evening after investigators say they located nearly 100 fentanyl pills inside his vehicle.

Just before 5:15 p.m., investigators with the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force observed a 2025 Jeep Compass in the area of North 10th and Charleston streets.

A police report made on July 23 listed the vehicle as a rental car that had not been returned by its due date. Investigators followed the vehicle to the parking lot of a bar in the area of North 1st Street and Cornhusker Highway.

They contacted the driver and sole occupant, identified as 34-year-old Hector Nunez, and arrested him inside.

Nunez was taken to the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle, possession with intent to deliver a hazardous drug and possession of money that is used or intended to be used to facilitate a drug exchange.

Nunez was charged with distribution of a hazardous drug and possession of money while violating drug law.
