THREE MEN ARRESTED IN TORONTO FOR ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPINGS TARGETING JEWS AND WOMEN, ONE LINKED TO ISIS
Canadian police announced the arrest of three Toronto men for attempted kidnappings targeting Jews and women, with one suspect facing additional terrorism charges linked to ISIS.
Waleed Khan, 26, Osman Azizov, 18, and Fahad Sadaat, 19, face a combined 79 charges including conspiracy to commit kidnapping, hostage taking, weapons possession, and sexual assault.
The incidents:
In May, three men, one armed with a handgun and another with a knife, approached a woman in Toronto and tried to force her into a vehicle.
A passing driver intervened.
In June, three men with a handgun, rifle, and knife chased two women in Mississauga. Again, a motorist intervened.
Searches of their residences uncovered firearms, ammunition, high-capacity magazines, and “evidence that indicated hate motivation.”
Khan faces additional terrorism charges including conspiracy to commit murder for a terrorist group, citing links to ISIS.
This comes days after the Bondi Beach massacre in Australia, where ISIS-linked attackers killed 15 at a Hanukkah celebration.
