Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez announced on Thursday that 41-year-old Everton Thomas has been charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of 48-year-old Harold Miller, whose body remains missing.

Everton Thomas, along with his 41-year-old wife, Sherrie Parker, and 22-year-old son, Deshawn Thomas, also face charges for desecration of human remains and tampering with evidence.

Parker and Deshawn Thomas were arrested on Sept.8, while Everton Thomas was taken into custody on the same day after cross back into the U.S. on a commercial bus.

Here is what happened

Everton Thomas, along with his 41-year-old wife, Sherrie Parker, and 22-year-old son, Deshawn Thomas, also face charges for desecration of human remains and tampering with evidence.

Detectives used surveillance video and cellphone data to determine that Miller went into a Baird Boulevard home on June 12. Moments later, a single gunshot could be heard on video footage from the investigation and Miller is never seen leaving the property again.

Miller was first reported missing in June 2025; he was last seen in Camden playing cards with friends, while his empty vehicle was later located on June 14 in Pennsauken, according to the county prosecutor’s office.

Police said Parker and Deshawn Thomas purchased a chainsaw, cleaning supplies, containers and trash bags, and brought the items to the residence. Surveillance video allegedly shows Everton Thomas and his son making several trips to the Tamarack Apartments dumpsters to load containers into a vehicle before driving away.
