17 year old employee was taken into custody for Deadly Conduct, Tampering with Evidence

RawNews1st – Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department responded to a business in the 3100 block of North St. after receiving a call of an injured employee.

During the investigation it was determined the arm injury to a 17 year old employee was from an apparent gunshot wound.

The criminal investigation division responded to assist.

Based on evidence collected at the scene along with statements it was determined that a gun was being handled improperly by an employee inside the business when the firearm discharged striking the victim.

The victim was transported by Ems to a local hospital in what’s believed to be stable condition.

The other 17 year old employee was taken into custody for Deadly Conduct, Tampering with Evidence and Theft of a Firearm due to the gun being reported stolen.
