A 15-year-old girl is dead, and another 15-year-old has been charged with murder following a shooting in Elizabethtown early Sunday morning.

Police were called around 2:30 a.m. to a Lowe’s parking lot after reports of a girl shot in the chest.

Officers arrived to find 21-year-old Bryan Harbison performing CPR on the victim. Another 15-year-old girl was also at the scene.

The injured teen was taken to Baptist Health Hardin, where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released.

Authorities said Harbison told them he picked up alcohol before meeting the girls, and the three went to hang out and drink in the parking lot.

Police reported that the second teen admitted during an interview that she had found a handgun in the vehicle, pointed it at the victim, and pulled the trigger.

Harbison is charged with third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and first-degree Wanton Endangerment.

The teen is charged with murder. Police are not releasing her name due to her age.
